MD Cafe at Harvard University

The Café at Maxwell Dworkin Hall was envisioned by both the users and designers to be first and foremost a social and academic gathering space for the students and faculty. Located on the ground floor of the existing building, the new café is a complete renovation of a prominent corner of the building. By locating the café behind an existing curved wood wall, the corner is liberated to become a space for students and teachers to come together. The design features custom millwork cabinets and counters, ambient lighting, and colors and finishes in warmer tones, all of which give a comfortable feeling to the space.
