FIRM PROFILE
PRINCIPAL
Douglas Okun received his Bachelor and
Master of Architecture degrees from the
University of Illinois, in addition to an
Associate of Applied Science degree in
Building Construction from the State University
of New York at Delhi. Doug was the recipient
of the Edward L. Ryerson and Francis J. Plym
Traveling Fellowships, each of which provided
six months of travel in Europe.
Prior to the formation of Douglas Okun &
Associates, Doug served as Project Architect/
Designer for Benjamin Thompson & Associates
and for Brown Daltas & Associates. Doug was
also principal of the firm Developmental
Resources.
As Principal of his own firm, Doug is involved
in all phases of the firm's work. Through his
education and experience in construction
and architecture, he has gained a rich,
professional expertise, as well as insight into
the design process. These varied experiences
enable Doug to provide creative, responsible
architecture which incorporates practical,
economical solutions. For his efforts, Doug
has received several awards, including a
National Award from the National Trust for
Historic Preservation.
Doug maintains a close relationship with his
staff and clients. His commitment to providing
clients with a high standard of design
performance results in projects of quality.
